pdftomd does one thing: upload a PDF, get clean Markdown back.
What "clean" means
Extraction is the easy part; structure is what usually gets lost. pdftomd rebuilds it:
- Headings become
#headings — section titles and numbered headings like "2.1 Results" are detected and leveled. - Lists stay lists — bullets and numbered items come out as proper Markdown list syntax.
- Paragraphs re-flow — the hard line breaks PDFs impose are merged back into natural paragraphs, hyphenated words repaired.
Digitally-created PDFs (Word, Google Docs, LaTeX exports) convert with high fidelity. Scanned documents aren't supported yet — OCR is on the roadmap.
Private by design
Your PDF is used only for your conversion — never shared, published, or used to train models. The Markdown result is saved to your history so you can re-download it anytime.
