How pdftomd handles copyright infringement notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

Last updated: 2026-07-03

Overview

pdftomd (pdf-to-md.net) respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. This policy describes how we respond to copyright infringement notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

A note on how pdftomd works: uploaded PDFs are used only to perform the requested conversion and are never made publicly accessible. Conversion results are private to the account that created them. pdftomd does not host or distribute user documents publicly.

Filing a DMCA Notice

If you believe content processed or stored through pdftomd infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent at dmca@pdf-to-md.net including all of the following:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  3. Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it (e.g. the account and conversion in question).
  4. Your contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

Our Response

Upon receiving a valid notice, we will promptly remove or disable access to the identified material and notify the account holder. We may provide the account holder with a copy of the notice.

Counter-Notification

If you believe your material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to dmca@pdf-to-md.net including: your signature; identification of the removed material and its prior location; a statement under penalty of perjury of your good-faith belief the removal was erroneous; your name, address, and phone number; and consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district (or, if outside the US, any judicial district in which pdftomd may be found).

If we receive a valid counter-notification, we may restore the material in 10–14 business days unless the original complainant files a court action.

Repeat Infringers

Accounts that repeatedly infringe copyrights will be terminated.
